The 85 Percenters 😳

5 Things to Do On National Voter Registration Day

For real and for true.

Election season is some the hell how here again. While some butt-hurt sore losers 🙄 folks still can’t handle the outcome of the last election, technically speaking, election season never left. There have been primaries, local races, and recall elections peppered throughout 2021. Now, the homestretch is here. And sweet loves…

Tis the season to 👏🏾VOTE👏🏾LOCAL.

Hold on. Clears throat.

VOTE. LOCAL.

Apparently, less than 15 percent of eligible voters are turning out to vote for community leaders like mayors and city councilors according to WhoVotesForMayor.org.

15 PERCENT?!

Keep it a buck? The barriers to voting local are pretty real. From language accessibility, to voter ID laws, to restrictive voting laws, to child care and elder care and no time off, and so, so, so much more, it can almost make you wonder: "Do y’all even want me to vote? 🧐”

That’s why we want you to rock with us now and well into 2022 to turn this thing around.

Ballotpedia is Bae, and Bae says:

As of September 2021, 64 state legislative special elections have been scheduled for 2021 in 21 states.
— Bae (a.k.a. Ballotpedia)

Bae also said:

There are at least 9 states holding statewide elections still to come in 2021, including Colorado, Maine, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Louisiana. (Ballotpedia)

And if you head to Bae’s page for Elections by year and state, you’re probably going to find a LOCAL election in your neck of the woods. (See here.)
